The Velvet Standard™

“Verified” is not a badge with us but a defined state. The Velvet Standard™ consists of five layers; each layer rests on the previous one, and the status holds only as long as all layers are current.

On the outside the status is binary: in verification, or verified.

The five layers

  1. 1

    Identity

    Who are you?

The professional exists, is who she says she is, and is of legal age; checked via official identity documents.

  2. 2

    Business

Do you exist as a business?

Registration, fiscal grounding and a business account: the professional exists as a business too.

  3. 3

    Compliance

Do you meet the rules of your practice?

The rules of her practice and market, recorded and kept up to date per jurisdiction.

  4. 4

    Conduct

Do you keep to the agreements?

Commitment to conduct standards, with the right to be heard and a means of appeal; measures are taken by people.

  5. 5

    Continuity

Is all of this still true?

Periodic re-checking and signal-driven review: verification is a state with us, not a snapshot.

One professional, one record

Behind the five layers sits one coherent, version-controlled record. It holds outcomes, not raw materials: per layer, the status, the method, the time, the validity, and who or what performed the check. Every change is written to an immutable audit trail: who, what, when, on what grounds.

A one-off check at onboarding is a photo. The Velvet Standard™ is a heartbeat.

The standard is a single whole. Verified means: all five layers, current. Externally, the platform recognises no partial marks; you are in verification, or verified. If a layer loses its validity, the status lapses until that layer is restored.

The standard is never quietly lowered. Every change is a joint, documented decision by the founders.
